Sound Experience

Rob Summers – Sound Engineer

Sitting at the sound desk on Priscilla, Queen of the Desert. 2011

As well as being a Network Marketing Professional, I am a musical Theatre sound engineer. This is the best thing about building my own business, I can work it around my full time Theatre job.

I started my career on the musical CATS at the New London Theatre back in 1986. I only intended to stay a couple of months, but 24 years later I’m still in show biz.

I left CATS to do a little show with a Helicopter called Miss Saigon. After two fun years I moved again to The London Palladium to work with Jason Donovan and to open Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. That’s when I got the sound bug and wanted to become a sound engineer.

I have been very lucky in my career as a sound engineer, I have managed to work with some great people both on and off the stage. Some of my favorites were Tommy Steele, Anthony Newley, Harry Secombe, Danny La Rue, Jason Donovan, Britt Ekland and Ray Meagher, who I first worked with 15 years ago in Woking and am working with again on Priscilla, Queen of the Desert.
