Love to his two daughters Esme and Cora and his amazing fiancée Carolyn Maitland who has just finished playing Grace Farrell in Annie the Musical.
In 2014 I was lost. I hated sound and 95% of the sound industry hated me.
I was cocky (still am a little bit) and thought I was owed something because of the amount of experience I had.
I was applying for every new West End Musical but wasn’t even getting an interview and I put it down to the fact that I was over qualified and charged too much.
The real reason was because I wasn’t as good as I thought I was and was hard work.
That’s when I saw a post in the Audio Cartel from a sound designer I didn’t know.
I thought if he didn’t know me I would have a better chance of getting the job, so I sent him a message.
I just saw your post in the Cartel and wondered if you are looking for a new person getting into sound or a older gentleman with a little bit of experience. I’ve been looking to get back into mixing for a few months now and would love to do something like this.
Let me know if it’s worth sending over my CV.
That message was the start of a great friendship.
I want to thank Mr Chris Whybrow for giving that older gentleman a chance, because he has made me fall in love with sound all over again.
