Rob Summers was the number one sound operator for Priscilla, Queen of the Desert at the Palace Theatre, for the last 2 years.
Rob Summers joined a show that was having a number of difficulties with the sound mix and levels. Within a few weeks of his arrival these issues had all been addressed and corrected giving the sound department the highly professional edge it had lost.
When Rob Summers started mixing I heard individual instrumentation and a clarity in the orchestral arrangements that had been missing, indicating that he demonstrates a creative and intuitive flair in his work. He has proved to be a competent and skilled technician producing work of a very high standard on a challenging show. The experience he has bought to the show has been a great asset to the production.
He treats his fellow workers with respect and displays maturity and patience when teaching the show to new members of his department - this has led to a happy and settled sound team.
